The Best Time to Photograph Newborns

Inquire Now

If you do not have a session pre-booked or pre-purchased, please contact us within 24–48 hours of giving birth so we can begin planning your newborn session. We love hearing all the amazing details—baby’s birth date, weight, and how everyone is doing—as this helps us create the best experience for you and your little one. We have photographed newborns from just a few days old up to 6 weeks with wonderful results. As long as your baby is healthy and feeding well, there is flexibility, and it is absolutely okay to delay the session if needed. For premature babies, we are happy to go even longer, as we typically want them to be closer to a full-term birth weight for comfort and safety. There is never any pressure or stress—please don’t worry. We are always happy to answer questions and guide you every step of the way, so feel free to reach out at any time.

  • Keep the room warm—newborns lose heat quickly in winter.
  • Earlier sessions (7–10 days) are usually easiest for sleepy posing.
  • Swaddled shots are a great fallback if baby is closer to 2 weeks.
  • Plan extra time for feeding and soothing breaks.
